WOWest initiative!

I updated my facebook status page a few days back with this link. The more I see the links there, the more I get wowed. The initiative is simply amazing to say the least. The idea is simple: a non-profit that has one website with all amazingly taught videos on subjects varying from physics to maths to finance/banking/credit crisis. All you need to have is one computer with internet access. Knowledge at your fingertips. All done by one guy. He reminds me of my thermodynamics professor during my UT days. Learning has never been this easy. If only every school had a teacher like this guy, who btw has degrees from MIT and Harvard, the world would be a better place.

Maybe this is a cue for India's current HRD minister. Education reforms is not just about passing education bills making it compulsory for every child to go to school. It should be about making the process of studying fun. As fun as dating is for most people. A child being taught crappily by a government teacher who doesn't show up half the time is also a literate - technically. But what's the usefulness of such literacy?

Not really tried looking at the videos, but nonetheless it's a great service.

I agree with everything you say except "all you need to have is one computer with internet access". In my opinion, having "this weekend" for learning is more important than availability of resources :)
