SRK, the salesman

News channels in India are going nuts over a supposed disrespect towards "a global icon", Shah Rukh Khan. They don't stop there.. they go on to claim "this is disrespectful towards every Indian". They make themselves a laughing stock by being so dramatic.

One thing that is interesting is SRK himself says this wasn't the first time he was being questioned at an airport.. then why is he going on air talking about it as if he is the most tortured soul on the planet? Everyone knows SRK's marketing acumen. Is it any coincidence that his film "My Name is Khan" is releasing soon and what better fodder than this to arouse sympathy?

As for his detaining, it's no big deal. Security people on the airports don't have to know who the person is before asking him questions. They are doing their jobs. Plain. Simple. I was kinda-detained at the Saudi airport b/c of some visa queries that the immigration authorities had. They questioned me till they were satisfied. Big deal? Now it wouldn't matter to them whether I was a common man or a superstar. Sure if I was a white, they wouldn't question me at all. But hey, it's their country and if you have issues with being questioned at the immigrations, then don't come. That's what I did. I left via Bahrain instead of being grilled again at Saudi immigration.
